Imagine waking up not knowing where your next meal will come from, or where you will sleep tonight. For thousands of our neighbors in Connecticut, this is reality every single day.
Homelessness in our state has risen by nearly 10% in the past year and early 2025 data indicate this trend is continuing upward.1 Behind every statistic is a person, a parent, a friend, a neighbor, struggling to survive. Your donation today helps The Connection provide nutritious food, personal care essentials, and safe shelter during the harshest conditions.
For anyone experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis, it’s impossible to be healthy if your basic needs for food and safe shelter cannot be addressed. Many meals that are accessible are calorie deficient and the luxury of choosing what to eat is not an option. A person living unsheltered may only have access to a warming center from 7 pm to 7 am during the coldest months of the year. That leaves 12 hours during the day to find a safe place to pass the time. As the holidays and year-end approach, the contrast between those celebrating and those searching for safety becomes impossible to ignore.
These basic needs intensify during the cold winter months, but the need doesn’t stop when spring arrives. Making a recurring gift makes an impact all year long. It’s easy to do on our platform, simply select the frequency of your donation underneath the amount. Join us in creating a safe, healthier, Connecticut.
Give today because hope can’t wait, and neither should you.
