Drumming Study

Focused on the premise that drumming has many benefits which include creating a sense of community, processing trauma and positive impact on self-esteem, this controlled trial explores the benefits of participating in a drumming group led by a certified Music Therapist. This partnership project funded by the Yale University Department of Psychiatry and The Connection. Click here to read the full study.

Second Story

An ongoing controlled trial to test the impact of an eight-week writing class for halfway house residents at The Connection. The course is led by a social worker, and includes crafting a positive autobiographical story and a relapse prevention letter for clients to revisit after leaving the facility.
