Offering DCF Families in Connecticut support services and the provision of safe, quality, affordable and permanent housing.

Our mission is helping DCF Families thrive by finding homes in safe, nurturing neighborhoods, achieving economic independence, developing healthy relationships, and providing their children with a stable and caring home environment.

Supportive Housing for Families is located throughout the state, with offices in New Haven, Groton, Middletown, Hartford, Waterbury, and Bridgeport. The program helps families get reunited with children who have been placed in foster care, or prevents the placement in foster care from happening by providing adequate housing.

Services provided include:

  • Assists clients in securing housing subsidy and/or rental housing
  • Provides transportation
  • Provides clients with referrals, advocacy, crisis intervention and counseling services as needed.
  • Coordinates substance abuse treatment, such as:
    • Relapse Prevention
    • Children’s Services
    • Educational Support
    • Parenting Training
