How
long have you worked at the Connection?
I was hired at The Connection, Inc in 1991. I oversee programs for women
and children, seven programs in all.
What
do you do at the Connection?
I supervise the Program Directors of all the programs I oversee. I do
a lot of constituency building statewide, and spend lots of time lobbying
at the legislative office building. It has been exciting being involved
in the development, licensing, hiring, and construction stages of all
the programs I supervise.
What
do you like about your job?
Prior to working at our agency, I worked for several years in the substance
abuse treatment field. I always found myself wanting to start separate
groups for the women clients in the facilities I worked at. Coming to
The Connection, and being able to take part in developing gender specific
programming has been extremely rewarding.
What
is your educational background?
I hold a BA degree in Child and Community Psychology from Albertus Magnus
College. My plans are to further my education by beginning a Masters Program
in January 0f 2008 at Albertus Magnus.
