Counseling Services for problem gamblers and their families.

In 1982 the state of Connecticut established the nation’s first outpatient problem gambling treatment program. Now located in Middletown, Problem Gambling Services has successfully helped hundreds of Connecticut residents.

The Bettor Choice Program, created in 1998, has expanded specialized gambling treatment services to 17 sites statewide. These programs offer services to problem gamblers and their families, regardless of ability to pay.

At any of the Bettor Choice sites, an individualized treatment plan is developed for each client. Treatment may include individual, group, marital and/or family therapy.

Services provided include:

• Stopping gambling
• Coping with urges and cravings to gamble
• Financial counseling
