New Haven Outpatient Clinic for Adults

The Outpatient Clinic for Adults, formerly managed by ALSO-Cornerstone, is a comprehensive outpatient behavioral health licensed private not-for-profit clinic providing mental health and substance abuse services to adults 18 and older in the Greater New Haven area. This clinic has been providing DWI services since 1981 and historically has provided information triage and referral services for individuals and families that have been impacted by substance abuse. It was first licensed as an outpatient psychiatric clinic for adults in March 1993, and in April 2007 was named an Enhanced Care Clinic.

The Outpatient Clinic, located at 205 Orange Street in New Haven, provides a safe, supportive environment for substance abuse treatment and co-occurring disorders.  Master’s level clinicians are also located on-site at two New Haven programs:  Park Street Inn and West Village. The Clinic is licensed by the CT Department of Public Health and receives funding from CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), which helps underwrite the cost of providing outpatient services for treating substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.  Most private insurances, Medicare and Title 19 are accepted at the Clinic.

The Outpatient Program offers telephone screening and intakes, which are triaged for an appointment to one of the many professional staff. The Medical Director reviews all treatment records and is available for consultation as needed.

Client demographics reflect the geographical areas served and include individuals in the region who have traditionally been underserved. Many individuals who come to the Clinic for treatment have never seen a private therapist nor have they had the opportunity to receive services from a well-trained experienced staff and credentialed clinicians.
