The Connection Prevention Services provide technical assistance to two underage drinking prevention initiatives, through community coalitions, in East Haven and Guilford.
The Connection Prevention Services is developing a comprehensive prevention strategy for delivering and implementing effective substance abuse prevention services by working with community coalitions in East Haven and Guilford. Using the environmental prevention approach, which involves a coordinated set of programs and activities designed to alter the factors in the community that contribute to the problem of underage drinking and many related risk factors.
The five main components to environmental prevention:
Data collection and analysis
Community organizing
Media advocacy
Policy change
